State Secretary and the new Ambassador of Pakistan to Latvia discuss bilateral cooperation

On 13 April 2021, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andris Pelšs, had a video-conference meeting with the non-resident Ambassador of Pakistan to Latvia, Malik Muhammad Farooq.  

State Secretary Pelšs and Ambassador Farooq spoke with appreciation concerning the cooperation between Latvia and Pakistan up to this time. The officials discussed the matters of bilateral cooperation – the legal framework, expanding of economic relations, and opportunities for building business contacts.

Mutual support in the framework of various international organisations, especially the United Nations, was noted as an important aspect of relations between the two countries.  

In 2021, Latvia and Pakistan mark the 25th anniversary since the establishment of their diplomatic relations.

The Ambassador of Pakistan to Latvia, Malik Muhammad Farooq, resides in Warsaw, Poland.
