Edgars Rinkēvičs signs the Book of Condolences on the recent terrorist attack in France

On 17 November, the Foreign Minister of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, arrived at the Embassy of France in Riga and personally expressed his deepest condolences to the Ambassador of France to Latvia, Stéphane Visconti, pledging solidarity with France and its people over the series of terrorist attacks in Paris on 13 November that claimed the lives of over a hundred innocent people and injured many more.

In his message of condolences, the Minister wrote: “Your grief is our grief. We are together with the French people at this saddest of moments. When faced with evil, we must fight together, and likewise, we must fight together for our values.”

On 14 November, Edgars Rinkēvičs laid flowers at the French Embassy in Riga and met with the Ambassador of France to express heartfelt sympathy and to convey, on behalf of Latvia, a letter of condolences to Laurent Fabius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development of France.
