The Embassy of Latvia in Belarus informs that the performance of consular functions has been suspended for an indefinite period of time.

 

For Latvian nationals who have entered an emergency in Belarus and who need consular assistance (for example, a personal identity document has disappeared), please contact the embassy of any EU Member State in Minsk or the consulate of Latvia in Vitebsk, or the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by telephone for emergency situations +371 26337711.

 For access to consular services (passports/ ID, certificates, etc.), please contact any representation of Latvia (consulate in Vitebsk, embassy in Ukraine, embassy in Poland, etc.).

 

Persons, who require a visa to attend a funeral of a close relative, are asked to address with this issue the State Border Guard of Latvia - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or request an entry visa directly at the border.

 

Starting from June 7, 2021, documents for category D visa can be submitted at the Consulate in Vitebsk via the Latvian Visa Centre “Pony Express” in Vitebsk by the the following categories of persons, who reside in the Republic of Belarus on permanent basis:

- foreigners the need for bringing in of whom for the fulfilment of the commitments of merchants in Latvia has been certified by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (also seasonal workers);

- persons, who have received a positive decision from OCMA regarding receival of residence permit or it’s registration and who are allowed to enter the Republic of Latvia in accordance with the Regulations 360 adopted on June 9, 2020;

- employees of the transport and carriage of passengers service providers;

- full-time and exchange programme students if a higher education institution or college has issued a written certification on the matriculation of the student and organisation of studies on site;

- athletes, who enter the Republic of Latvia on a basis of an employment agreement;

- cultural workers, whose presence in Latvia is needed for organizing cultural services and public events.

Starting from June 10, 2021, Schengen (C) visas representing Latvia are issued at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Minsk.  Following categories of persons who reside in the Republic of Belarus outside the Vitebsk region can submit C visa applications at the Embassy of Germany in Minsk:

-       family members of the Latvian and EU citizens (spouses and children under 21);

-     foreigners the need for bringing in of whom for the fulfilment of the commitments of merchants in Latvia has been certified by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (also seasonal workers) (the invitation letter from Latvian side in English or Russian or invitation from the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of Latvia in English is required);

-      employees of the transport and carriage of passengers service providers (the invitation letter from Latvian side in English or Russian or invitation from the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of Latvia in English is required);

-       seafarers who must reach their work place aboard a ship or must return from it;

-      athletes, employees of the sports organizations and representatives of the international sports organizations with aim to participate in the international competitions (the invitation letter from Latvian side in English or Russian or invitation from the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of Latvia in English is required).

 

NB! Please note the following procedure to submit visa applications at the Embassy of Germany in Minsk:

-       Persons should first address the Latvian Consulate in Vitebsk to receive approval to submit documents at the Embassy of Germany;

-       The Consulate in Vitebsk informs the Embassy of Germany about this application;

-       The Embassy of Germany in Minsk contacts the visa applicant to agree about an appointment to submit visa application documents.
